We can picture our God, ever smiling, bending WAY down like a father, to hear whatever we have to tell Him. And, trusting His Love, we can talk to Him always, about everything in our lives, as long as we live.
The question is, do we trust Him with everything? Or is there a secret part of who we are that we don't talk with anyone about, even God? Maybe especially God. Our secret sins. Our embarrassing failures. Our private envies, angers, and lusts. Our hoarding up of grudges.
Or we don't share with Him our dreams about who we really are, who we could become. We hide from the power and glory that illuminates our souls because God dwells within us. That's right - God doesn't really have to bend down to hear us, because He lives deep in our souls. Our deepest, truest self is the presence of God. And maybe we're afraid to be all that we can be in His Spirit! To change. Risk. Try again. Let our light shine on a hilltop!
Adam and Eve, before they sinned, walked naked in the Garden with God. Naked, transparent in their thoughts and feelings, unafraid. The sign of their sin was that they hid from Him. But - He went searching for them. Every moment of every day, He's out searching for us. We don't have to wait for Him to notice us before we offer him our tears, sins, worries, dreams, kisses. He's with us already. His cheek is pressed to ours forever.
