Sometimes you think that you're doing it all alone. That all the strength is yours. Of course it's your strength - but Who gives it to you continually? Who lives so deeply inside that the two of you are one?
When, this past week, was God's strength upholding you, a strong tower around and inside you?
Be grateful to the One Who made you so wonderfully, Who chose to make a dwelling place within you after creating the Universe around you. The One with Whom you can talk at any time so that you are never alone, never lonely.
When this past week did you speak with God - and knew God was listening?
Be grateful - for the One who knows your every action and thought and upholds you, counsels you, even in the dark reaches of the night.
When this past week did God awake you with new-found wisdom and you had no idea where it came from?
Be grateful to the One Who guides you on the right path, even when you have no idea where you're going. Who opens your eyes to the wonders of the path you're on, who places people there for comfort and advice.
Who came into your life this past week when you needed someone really badly?
Be grateful to the One Who picks you up when you've taken a hard fall from grace through your own stupid wanting to do it your way. Who tells you to go gently on yourself when you emotionally beat yourself up.
When this past week did God remind you that you're forgiven and that it's over, and its time to forgive yourself?
Be grateful to the Lord, Who is so good, Whose love endures forever, Who loves all peoples and reminds us that we are one.
When did God open your eyes this week so that you saw clearly and understood someone else, someone different from you, for the first time?
Be grateful to the Lord,Who loves you always and everywhere and all the time.
When this week did God remind you that you are wonderful, beautiful, competent, lovable, broken but mended, ready to rise again and try again and go forward with your life?
I hope you discovered God doing all these things for you every day this week. Because God did, our hidden, unassuming, all-loving God Who wants nothing more than to let you know that you're loved. It's Who God is. It's who you are - one of God's precious, unique wonders.
"Praise the Lord who is so good; God's love endures forever." (Psalm 136)
